Permanent home for Early Childhood Center

The need:

Our growing Maize Early Childhood Center offers educational services to families and children from birth to age five. It is housed in Vermillion Elementary School and will be crowded out of space as Vermillion adds fourth- and fifth-grade classes in the future. ECC houses Speech Therapy in a closet and uses one room for therapy, production, music instruction, Career and Technical Education in conjunction with our high school students and a staff lounge. Student groups work in hallways, nine teachers share an office and the entryway does not accommodate parents dropping off and picking up kids.

Our vision:

The bond would provide ECC with a permanent home and needed space for programs, which prepare our youngest students for their future at Maize Schools and beyond.
