District-wide Infrastructure Improvements
Maize's operating budgets have been cut more than 15 percent since 2009, forcing the district to rely on its capital outlay fund to shore up operation costs. When we consider ongoing yearly costs, including $1 million on roof improvements, $500,000 on bus replacements and HVAC maintenance and replacement of $250,000, there is very little remaining. Including roofing and infrastructure repairs in the bond project allows Maize Schools to use general fund money on curriculum and classrooms needs.
