MLA Citation Help

How do I make a Works Cited Page?

A works cited page is a list of sources you referenced in your research project. When you use ideas and facts from your sources you need to cite those sources. The MLA (Modern Language Association) format is used at Maize High School.

Formatting the Paper

* The Works Cited page is a separate page placed at the end of your paper.
* It is listed alphabetically by author, last name first.
* Double space the whole document.
* Indent by five spaces all but the first line of your entries.
* You can break a long web address at the / mark.

Viewing Examples

Use the following examples to help you correctly cite the resources you are using. If you do not find an example for the resource needed, use the book MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers by Joseph Gibaldi.

Select the type of resource for which you need an example.
