Science 7--Focus: The student will explore six categories identified by the national science standards and will develop process skills applicable to life experiences through six themes identified by Kansas State Science Standards

A. Observe, describe and measure different types of forces and motion. Consider the causes and effects of friction. Become famililar with Newton's Laws of Motion and Gravitation.
B. Investigate the diversity of living things. Explored adaptations, natural selection, and classification.
C. Study the human reproductive system and the process of human growth and development.
D. Explore the history of astronomy. Identify the major bodies of out solar system. Explain eclipses, moon phases, and seasons. Learn about the compostion and life span of stars and take an imaginary journey through the universe.
E. Explore the mechanisms of plate tectonics, mountain building, earthquakes, and volcanoes.
F.Apply scientific skills (define a problem, write a hypothesis, design and conduct an experiment, gather data, interpret and construct charts and graphs, evaluate data and draw conclusions). Use these skills to conduct an independent investigation and complete a full lab report.
