Kindergarten Enrollment Information

  • Welcome to the Maize School District 

    The Maize School District offers tuition-free, half-day (Maize Elementary) and all-day Kindergarten (ADK) programs at all elementary schools.

    Students must live in the district and be five years of age on or before August 31, 2020 in order to attend Kindergarten next school year. 

    Kindergarten Online Pre-registration Open for Enrollment 
    Monday, February 10, 2020 through March 30, 2020

    ONLINE pre-enrollment will be open February 10 through March 30 and MUST be completed prior to arriving at the Kindergarten Enrollment session on March 31.

    Kindergarten Enrollment Night
    Tuesday, March 31 - 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. - Maize High School - 11600 W. 45 St. N. in Maize

    Mark your calendar and plan to attend the Kindergarten Enrollment Night to finalize your student's kindergarten enrollment on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Maize High School, 11600 W. 45th St. N. in Maize. Please note that this is a come and go event and that arriving early has no impact on your child's building assignment.  If you have questions, please contact us at enrollment@usd266.com or call the Enrollment Hotline at 316-350-2050. This event is for all students who will be attending Kindergarten in Maize USD 266 in the fall of 2020 and did not attend the Maize Early Childhood Center in the 2019-20 school year. Those who have attended the Early Childhood Center in 2019-20 will be "returning students" and do not need to participate in this event.

     

    The one-page 2020-21 school calendar (downloadable) gives an overview of days off for breaks, parent/teacher conferences, and term dates. *Will be available in February after BOE approval

    Completing these forms will expedite the enrollment process.  *If your child currently attends the Maize Early Childhood Center, you DO NOT need to complete the forms below.

    Health information forms - view and download available health forms, i.e.; Health Assessment, Kansas Certificate of Immunization, Permission to Administer Medication form, Dental Card, Pre-participation physical evaluation form, etc. This information is available year-round in the Nurse's Corner of Health Services of each school's Web page.

    Bus Rules and Regulations - view and download busing information from the district's Transportation department Web page.

    Birth Certificate contacts - This list is provided in the event you are unable to locate a certified copy of your student's birth certificate. To obtain a copy of  a birth certificate in the United States, contact the vital statistics office in the state or area where the event occurred.   • CHECKLIST FOR MARCH 31, 2020 AT KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT

     Complete online pre-enrollment prior to arriving.

     Bring the following documents if you did not attach them during your online pre-registration for enrollment:

    • Proof of residency: ONLY current electric, gas, water or trash bill with service name and address or current signed lease/rental agreement. A current signed housing contract with the date of residency will be accepted on a temporary basis of 4 months. Foster parents must bring a placement agreement.
    • Certified copy of Birth Certificate (must be State issued)
    • Proof of immunizations
    • Health assessment
