  • Watch D.O.G.S. – How It Works:

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is an innovative father involvement, educational initiative of the National Center for Fathering. Watch D.O.G.S. are fathers, step-fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S. school.

As a Watch D.O.G.S. participant, you'll spend a portion of the day and lunch with your student and then the remainder of the day working with other PWS students. You may help students with school work, supervise at recess, patrol the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities.

Prior to your scheduled day, a reminder will be sent home with your student. On your scheduled day, please come to the school office between 8:15-8:25 am. You’ll receive instruction on the day’s activities and your schedule. A Watch D.O.G.S. T-shirt will be provided to you to wear or you may wear your own Watch D.O.G.S. shirt.

You are welcome to bring your lunch or you may purchase a school lunch. Please dress appropriately for outdoor recess and remember that hats are not allowed to be worn during the school day.

You MUST complete a volunteer background check PRIOR to your first scheduled Watch D.O.G.S. date. The background check can be completed online thru the PWS website. A volunteer background check will need to be completed each school year.
