Matt Jensby
    Represents the Southwest portion of the district

    The Maize Board of Education on Sept. 29, 2014 appointed Matt Jensby as the Maize Board of Education District 1 interim board member.

    Jensby is the city of Maize police chief and the owner of Jensby Bug and Pest Control, LLC. He has three children who attend Maize South Elementary, Maize South Middle and Maize South High schools.

    Jensby served as a Maize Board of Education member until the current term ended on June 30, 2015. He ran for the seat when it came up for election in April 2015, and voters elected him for another term.

Dr. Scott Crawford
    Represents the west/northwest portion of the district

    In April 2015, voters elected Scott Crawford to the Maize Board of Education via a write-in campaign. He joined the board in July 2015.

    Farris joined the board in 2018 and represents the east portion of the district.

Richard Stiverson
    Represents the West/Northwest portion of the district

    Richard Stiverson has devoted over 30 years of service as a board member. He and his wife, Debbie, have four children who graduated from Maize and currently have two grandchildren attending Maize schools. Stiverson is a Contracts Manager with Spirit and is a graduate of Maize High School.

    When asked about what he enjoyed the most about serving on the board, Stiverson said, "I like the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of children and seeing the faces of Maize graduates as they walk across the stage to receive their high school diploma." 

Dr. Jeff Jarman

    Voters elected Jeff Jarman to the Maize Board of Education in April 2015. He began his term in July 2015.

Kate Doerksen

    Vice President
    Represents the District 1 portion of the district


    Kate served as an interim board member and then was elected to the board in November 2017. She is an active community volunteer and has served on several district committees through the years.

    She has four children who have gone through or are going through Maize Schools. She wrote that her family has "received great education, support and overall experience. I want every family in the Maize District to have that same experience."

Bruce Nicholson
    Represents the East portion of the district

    With nearly 30 years of dedicated service, Bruce Nicholson has witnessed the district's growth first hand. A graduate of Maize himself, he has four children who are alumni and six grandchildren attending Maize. Along with his wife, Doris, he farms land in the district. Growing watermelons and cantaloupes is one of his specialties.

    "I like communicating and associating with like-minded people," said Nicholson when asked about his board service. While it can be challenging to learn and keep up with the district's changing circumstances, Nicholson hopes to provide students the opportunity to take advantage of all that Maize offers.
