Secondary education
Welcome to secondary education!
At Maize USD 266, students step into a world of expanded opportunities, from electives and athletics to a wide array of activities beginning in middle school and continuing through high school. Students continue their journeys as Eagles or Mavericks, depending on their home address, or they can explore alternative pathways at Complete High School Maize.
Our dedicated educators guide students toward high school graduation, with options that include courses at Maize Career Academy. Here, students engage in hands-on learning that prepares them for college and careers through real-world applications. We offer programs in culinary arts, health science, business, communications, engineering, agriculture, and more—aligning with the evolving needs of today’s workforce.
Many courses offer college credit, including some taught by visiting college instructors. Through partnerships like the one with Wichita State University's Shocker Academy, motivated juniors and seniors can earn up to 30 college credits while still in high school, giving them a valuable head start in higher education.
Students also have diverse options in art, music, design, athletics, and extracurricular activities, allowing them to connect, learn, and lead in areas they’re passionate about.
Our intermediate schools thrive thanks to active parent-teacher organizations (PTOs) and the Maize Education Foundation. We strongly encourage family involvement—whether through volunteering or participating in events—as we believe that strong family-school partnerships are key to student success.
