CoachMolly Herd Asst. Coach: Ted Gibson

  • Coach Herd started her coaching career at the age of eighteen at Tallgrass Country Club for their summer swim team. After graduating from college, Herd started coaching the beginning swimmers for the Neptunes Swim Team at the Northwest YMCA. Besides coaching swimming, Herd also coached middle school Track and Field for two years and is on her third year coaching middle school Cheerleading. She looks forward to the continued growth of the MHS swim team and hopes for even more success than the previous years.

Coach Gibson has been involved in USD 266 coaching for the past 14 years.  He has served as a football, track and assistant swim coach for MMS, MSMS, MSHS and MHS during this time.  Presently, he serves as the district's head swim coach for boys swimming, the assistant swim coach for girls swimming and he is an assistant coach for the MSHS football team. Coach Ted has been a long standing swim parent and USA swimming official which will serve him well as he looks forward to many years of success for USD 266 swimming.

  • Welcome to the Maize High School Girls Swimming Site!

We are looking forward to an exciting 2017 Girls season with our new team members coming on board and all our returning swimmers from last year.

2017 will prove to be interesting and exciting, with what they hope will include State qualifiers.

We look forward to a fun and great season!

    Note from the coach:

-Mandatory practices are every week day, except for Spring Break.

-For practice, the girls need to be on deck by 3:15 stretching and so I can take roll, and then we get in the water at 3:30. (We have the pool until 5:30, but practice endings do vary on how hard the girls work during the practice.)

-There are no tryouts, so as long as you show up each and every day for practice and try your  best, you are on the team.

-Every swimmer MUST have a physical and concussion form on file with the school or she cannot participate in any way, that includes practice.

I look forward to seeing you in March!

    Coach Herd
