Welcome to Maize USD 266!

Community connections enrich our schools, student opportunities

In Maize USD 266, connection is at the heart of everything we do. When our caring community engages with our families, students, and educators, learning expands far beyond the classroom.

Our nationally recognized schools welcome visitors from across the state and beyond. Businesses, organizations, and partners, including the Maize Police Department and Maize Recreation Commission, bring real-world experiences directly to our students. Their visits spark curiosity, inspire future paths, and strengthen the bond between school and community.

This semester, Maize USD 266 was designated a Kansas Purple Star District, one of only 11 schools or districts statewide recognized for its major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military. Last semester, the Kansas Supreme Court visited the district to hear a case in a special evening session. These are just two recent examples of how we are stronger and better together.

We celebrate the many voices and perspectives in our community, inviting participation in events, opportunities, and committees. Our Facilities Steering Committee of students, employees, parents, and community members has been collaborating since December 2024 to help us plan for the future of our district facilities.

Support and encouragement comes from the many volunteers who lend their time, expertise, and energy. From advisory groups to classroom projects, their involvement makes a meaningful difference every day. Our students give back, too. Through volunteer service opportunities, our students lend a hand to the community that lifts us up.

When our community connects, we all grow stronger together for the sake of our students and their future.
