For 2022-23, COVID-19 falls under district’s communicable disease policy
Maize USD 266 looks forward to a safe and healthy school year. As students and employees return, it will be important to continue to encourage healthy hygiene and follow the district’s communicable disease policy.
The Maize Board of Education voted in May 2022 to eliminate all COVID mitigation policies. Therefore, the district no longer has policies or protocols specific to COVID. Maize USD 266 will continue to recommend that students and employees follow recommendations provided by public health agencies such as the Sedgwick County Health Department (SCHD), Kansas Department of Health and Environment, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The District Communicable Disease Policy, found in the Maize Board of Education policy, says in part, “Students who are ill should never be sent to school. Students with temperatures at or above 100 degrees will be sent home. They must be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication before returning to class.”
The board policy is available at www.usd266.com/schoolboard.
Thank you for your support as we navigate forward together.
